Wheatfield Court Care Home is situated in pleasant surroundings in the Westerhope area of Newcastle.
The inspector made no statutory requirements on the home as a result of this inspection and there were no outstanding actions from the previous inspection report. With dedicated co-ordinators in all of our homes, we have a full programme of events in and out of our homes. The home manager of Kirkwood Court has many years’ experience of running a care home. The home has strong links with the local community and many residents grew up in the local area.

We reviewed the information and data available to us about Whorlton Grange Residential Home on 8 December 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to reassess the rating at this stage. As the interactive digital tables have an android operating system, our activities coordinators and home managers can download multiple applications. All three outcomes can be achieved through residents interaction with the table and the carer guidance.
We were told that there were a variety of activities in the home and one person 'had changed his outlook since coming into the home'. We carried out a review of the data available to us about Whorlton Grange Residential Home on 8 December 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to carry out an inspection or reassess our rating at this stage. Providing accommodation for up to 35 individuals who require Nursing, Residential or Dementia care. This technology adds to our well-being, and the activities mix helps us keep our Residents sharp, happy and entertained. Sovereign Lodge and Court
Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time. We checked on the safety and suitability of the accommodation and environment. We saw the shared areas were clean and tidy and bedrooms were well decorated and personalised by individuals who used the service. This is the latest available inspection report for this service, carried out on 15th May 2009. CQC found this care home to be providing an Excellent service. It includes all 11,500 registered care homes in the UK that cater exclusively or primarily for older people.

A further extension and improvements to the building were completed in July 2005. Additional bedrooms, extra communal space, a bathroom and a patio area were added at this time. The home has 39 single and 3 double bedrooms, 38 of which have en-suite facilities.
The manager and staff team have made her feel at home, at first. It was very upsetting for her and her family, but the staff team have done a fantastic job, and she is now quite settled and getting good quality care. People's needs had been assessed before they moved into the home.
Waverley Lodge Bewick Crescent, Lemington, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE15 8AY ★★★☆ Waverley Lodge is a large care home in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with 45 beds. The care home accepts older individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The facility has been registered with the Care Quality Commission since May 2017.
